A Visit to New York City

I had the delightful pleasure of running around New York City for a few days with the rest of the graphic design department and some faculty for the second year in a row. Among the hustle and bustle of the city, we got relax and visit some familiar studios as well as some new ones. New York City is definitely it's own animal, but you can't deny that there's a lot of hidden treasures on every corner of this concrete jungle worth exploring.

Wing Club Workshop

Maine Type Lab's latest event involved a RISO machine, Wing Club Press, and Wingdings stickers. We put together a RISO printing workshop with the guys from Wing Club and a group of illustration and design students. Everyone had a lot of fun working and learning processes with both the computer and also our hands, making funky collages to try out on the RISO machine.

Reuniting Families

Over the spring semester, my Type Design class gathered the incomplete woodtype families in our school's print department, redesigned the missing characters, and used a CNC router to cut the new characters. It was kind of crazy, really stressful, super ambitious, but so damn fun and fulfilling.
